A Rather Rustic Egg Project...

Today I spent a little time making and photographing a rustic style craft project to show you. This incorporates die cutting, stencilling and blending inks. Details are below of  how it was made.
First measure and cut a piece of white card 10.5cm wide and 12.5 cm long.
Also cut a second piece slightly smaller 10cm x 12cm.
Other items required:
Inks, Blending Tool, Cutting Die and Machine, embellishments to decorate.
Using the 'Sweet Dixie' Decorative Easter Egg die cut out the egg from the card.
Using the die cut egg shape as a stencil, lay it over the frame shape and blend ink through.
Lift the egg shape, place in a new area and repeat all the way around.
Choose another colour of ink, using a blending tool gently cover all over with ink. You can add layers of colour until you are happy with the look you require.
Once coloured, take the egg shape and repeat the stencilling again on top.
When done there is a lovely effect of pattern, texture and colour for the framing of the egg shape.
Add any more additional ink to your egg shape then place in the centre.
Use your 10cm x 12cm piece of card on the reverse of project.
Choose your finishing touches, I added a handtied twine bow and a paper flower.
Then rubbed a tiny amount of gold gilding wax on the egg for effect.
This could be made into a card, or maybe make a few for some ornate bunting.

Hope you enjoyed seeing this idea
More coming soon to the blog.
