Unwrap My Heart
Hi everyone, sharing a card idea I created with Valentine's in mind as the first post here on the blog for January 2021. The theme for this rustic project is 'Unwrap My Heart'.
It was made using a mix of recycled card, ink, a hand carved Lino print design & a piece of twine. Not forgetting a little adhesive to stick it all together. 
I hand drew a rough heart shape onto a linocut block, then using an Essdee tool & blades cut the design. Cutting out little circles & a swirl for detail. Leaving some noise to the background of the design too, which I quite like. Using a red ink pad covered the block in ink & transferred this to the blank card. Once dry framed & mounted using recycled card cut to size. I used the twine as a wrap around the heart inspired by the thought of how we can open our hearts to those we love.
