A little insight into Distress Oxide Inks

For anyone who enjoys cardmaking, mixed media, making home decor you may be using or considering trying?
This post is a little insight into how a few colours from the range look when used together & how nicely they can work/look on a project.
I am a real fan of them, they really do blend beautifully & leave a chalky look/finish to projects.

The Inks are are a water reactive dye & pigment ink fusion.
Perfect for blending using ink blending tools and foam.

Use as they are or you can when using them spray your work with water which creates an oxidised effect when it reacts with the ink. The ink is thicker than distress ink & dries more slowly.
Using a mix of four colours I made a sweet little die cut rocker card to show how the inks can look when blended onto white card.

This rocker was simple to make:

I die-cut a circle of card, measured it to find the central point & scored/folded in half.
Inked it up along with some embellishments butterfly, leaves & flowers.
Used a small offcut of card on the inside of the circle, glued on to make it a little more rigid/stable.

Attached the embellishments all made from die cut card/inked & glued on.

A few gems & a little additional gold gilding wax added to the flowers & butterfly to complete.

All the die cut embellishments & the circle were made using 'Sweet Dixie' dies with credit to Sue Dix.

In our online shop we have a nice mix of the inks available to choose from
(subject to availability)

Plus a lovely range of cutting dies & more crafting items to browse.
