Cardmaking ideas with the new Sweet Dixie Decorative Birdcage die

Sweet Dixie recently launched some gorgeous new dies designed by Sue Dix.

We have these in the shop, along with more beautiful designs to choose from including the fluttering by panel.

I wanted to show a couple of cardmaking ideas both using the

and one also incorporates it along with the

Once cut out I handcoloured the birdcage and little birds.

Created a background with distress inks

& a little stencilling using the offcuts from the die cut.

Then added some vintage style ribbon and paper flowers for a shabby chic look.

This more ornate style card was made by matt and layering coloured card.

Then die cut the cage, edges and birds in gold mirri card.

finished with a gold bow and paper flower.

You can make so many lovely things from cards, to home decor pieces.

The dies cut beautifully and are a great price.
