One Sweet Dixie die set - three ideas
Hi everyone
Sharing some cardmaking inspiration with you all here on the blog. Today I set myself a challenge to use one cutting die set to show you three simple ideas. The aim, that by using just a few items you can come up with a lovely mix of cards.
The star of these makes is a beautifully intricate die set from Sweet Dixie

Card One
Layered the patterned papers vertically onto the card base. A small rectangular strip of silver mirri card added and decorated with pearls. Die cut the the ornate oval in silver mirri card & topped with a white oval. Stamped a sentiment on to this centrally and used a silver pen to highlight the oval pattern. Made a little silver bow and added a sparkly gem to finish.
Card Two
Used a square background in pink as the base. Half way up added a rectangular strip of patterned paper. Decorated this with sparkly gems. Layered the pink and white die cuts using them vertically. Added a floral decoration (from my craft stash) Stamped a sentiment onto a small piece of card and attached.
Card Three
More of a Mixed Media theme for this one, with a twist. Once I had cut out the ornate oval, I cut it in half lengthways. This created the sides to the design which I glued on. Coloured with a mix of distress inks in red and brown to build up the colour, plus a little mica spray. The inner oval was placed centrally using pads to raise it. To finish I used gems and an old decorative embellishment. Mounted onto black card to complete.
