Fly With Me

Hi everyone there is something special about hot air balloons, they can capture imagination, take you on journeys & adventures with thanks to their designers, makers & skilled pilots. I really like that they have been around for many years in fact since 1783. 

My most recent crafty make was created using a beautiful stamp from Crafty Individuals 'Fly With Me' & I went with a rustic Vintage theme to this inspired by the past.

The stamp measures as one A6 plate & is unmounted. I stamped out twice using versafine vintage sepia ink, then blended a mix of oxide inks over the top. Used one for the background, then cut out the balloons & word art on the second. Inked the edges & used some sand paper to roughen the finish a little. All stamping done on recycled card & added some recycled shredded cardboard for texture & interest. Stuck together with the addition of a few foam pads to raise the balloons. Mounted the finished piece onto some gold card to finish.
