A Very Creative Week
This week I spent some of my spare time cardmaking for pleasure when I took part in a challenge on facebook hosted by Teri of TeriBFantasyCrafts. Over five days I made a card / project a day, themed around nature. Below you can see the makes and a little detail about them.
Day 1 - Birds
For this card I mixed different papers that I had printed and cut out, layering them. Fussy cut the eggs, bird and flowers which were decoupaged. Added some die-cut tiny birds which were inked & also some ruffled lace and little pearls. Credit to Sue Dix, Vintaj and Daisytrail for some of the items used in creating it.
Day 2 - The Sea / Seaside
Printed out and fussy cut paper, word art and foliage. The little tiles I made in a mold using air dry clay and then inked. Spent a little time arranging things first, then glued everything on. Credit to G&T Designs for the digital imagery used and Craft Box for the flowers and sea themed elements.
Day 3 - Flowers
I made the coloured papers and flowers myself using white card as a base. Inked the card with tumbled glass distress ink, then sprayed with tarnished brass distress mica spray. Flowers and leaves created using a mix of the Pretty Petals Sweet Dixie die set and a mold for the gold coloured one, this was coloured with distress stain and a little bit of gold gilding wax. Matt and layered the card, with some additional brown card for contrast. Added twine, two types of gems and a stamped 'Happy Birthday'. Arranged the flowers, gluing at different angles for dimension.
Day 4 - Insects I designed the patterned paper, topper and tag in craft artist. Printed them out along with some butterflies & cut to size. Matt and layered along with some mixed card stock, ribbon, lace and gems. Credit to Foxeysquirrel for the floral image used and Daisytrail for the butterfly design.
Day 5 - Woodland
This project is two sided. Created the forest scene and floral panels in craft artist 2 printed & cut out. Used some old cardboard which I inked up with walnut stain distress ink, matt and layered the front & added some knotted twine. Made some mini pockets for the reverse for stationery to sit in & some mini tags. I also glued an envelope back to front onto it as a storage pocket. Credit to Foxeysquirrel for imagery used and Teri for the Inspiration.

It was lovely having a theme each day and there were videos to watch showing different techniques if you wanted to try them out. Lots of other crafters joined in too and it was so nice seeing what everyone made. What I loved was whether a novice, intermediate or experienced crafter everyone was made to feel welcome and were encouraging each other.
If it is something you might like to be involved in Teri will be running other challenges in the future and she also has a facebook group.
Hope you enjoyed seeing the weeks makes and I will be back to blog again next week with news of our next giveaway, some more crafting ideas and product insights.
Have a lovely week/weekend
Hugs
Heather
