Mini Envelope Fun...Ideas and insights
Today I am showing you all just how lovely this
'Rectangular Mini Envelope And Insert Die' is.
Designed by Sharon Callis Craft & Design (Sweet Dixie).
The Dies themselves measure at:
mini envelope 9cm x 7cm
insert 5cm x 3cm

In store (subject to availability)
I made three different cards as seen above each one incorporating either the mini envelope &/or insert. The dies cut beautifully and the envelope shape is very easy to fold.
(you will require craft glue or fine tape to adhere the corners of the envelope).
There are two dies in the set, the pictures show the cut shapes, plus a folded one.
Below images of each card and a little detail about them.
A 'Valentine' Card made using two of the envelope shapes and three inserts.
Gluing two of the envelopes back to back, created a free-standing mini card.
Using the insert shapes to fill, angling them and adding some freehand wording.
Then decorated with a few gems and a handmade heart embellishment.
I created a base to stand it on just for effect.
The central pink panel on this card was created with the insert die. Handy for adding a small feature/raised detail etc. Stamped and blended detail created using distress oxide ink and a beautiful Roses stamp set designed by Sue Dix.
This card incorporates the mini envelope with an insert on the front of it. Nice little touches of detail added include a stamped sentiment poking out from it, along with a mix of patterned paper, lace topper, molded hand painted flower and some twine which I knotted.
There are many more potential makes and somehow I think I might be using this die time and time again to add sweet touches to cards, scrapbook projects etc...
