Is It The Moon Or The Wolf That Howls ?

The wolf I think, but then again...
Hi everyone this creative make has a Halloween Gothic style to it. I used a beautiful stamp by 'Crafty Individuals' called Howling Wolf  which was designed by Maria Kitano. The other items used were black versafine ink, distress oxides in three colours, blending tools plus cotton buds to apply ink in small areas i.e. close to the wolf outline. White, black and yellow card, white gel pen for the little dots and a die for the ornate detail.
Using plain white card, I stamped the wolf first in black ink, then let that dry.
I found using a cotton bud a great way to colour in the moon, gently rubbing & blending the ink just where required. Then I randomly inked the other two colours to make the sky. Finished with little white dots as though tiny stars in the sky.
I really did feel on this project that less is more and kept it simple with the lovely burst of colour from the oxides, contrasting with the black card I used to mount the project.
Colours used - wilted violet, peacock feathers & scattered straw.
Hope you enjoyed seeing it, maybe it is something you would like to try ?
If so you can find a lovely mix of stamps and inks in the shop.
** With wolves in mind below are some quotes for Inspiration too **

There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.
George Carlin
If a wolf and the moon could speak their stories of longing and love
It would make you wish that dawn would never break.

There is something haunting in the light of the moon.

The girls who run with wolves don't speak of their wild. Yet they are made from the fire of a thousand suns. Chasing moonlight and love, how they crave danger and sin and when the wolf comes knocking they will always let him in.
