Creativity & Colour

The psychology of colour when creating can be very interesting as we are all drawn to different things.

Creatively I find myself repeatedly using cool colour hues like soft blues which have a calming effect. Particularly when creating digital art & scrapbook layouts. This can help me feel tranquil & relaxed.

I guess it is science & art combined, how we perceive colour, the message it communicates. 

Do we want it to convey a feeling or emotion?

I made these Vintage style digital scrapbook layouts with the above image having soft hues of blue, silver grey & off white. Then below light blues, browns & gold with just that in mind. 

A gentleness to the pages, peaceful, relaxed & subtle.

They say that colour is energy made visible & we can be drawn to what suits us.
