Halfway To Christmas - A Festive Taster

Hi everyone Friday 25th June is 'Halfway to Christmas' so in the spirit of pre-season crafting I have created a couple of subtle makes as a festive taster. Over the coming months I will share other seasonal makes, product insights & ideas here on the blog along with plenty more for you.

Firstly...

I used a beautiful cutting die called 'Christmas Parcel' from Sweet Dixie & had a little play to decorate two cards & a mini booklet. Die-cutting the shape, inking with a mix of salvaged patina & antique linen distress oxide inks blended together to tweak the colour.  Along with some heat embossing in silver to give a distressed finish. I cut small pieces of card to back the shape & also made some edge panels for inking. Foam pads were used to raise the parcel on the cards, double bows added, along with gems & sparkly washi tape.
The blue panel (2nd layer) was made of recycled cardboard & inked up really well.
The little booklet below was made by cutting a 5x7 blank card in half & using one half inside the other. The inside half was trimmed a little shorter in length, then glued together. Free-reign decoration with washi tape, gems, little strips of card to decorate & make an extra mini parcel embellishment. Small pockets for storing die-cut embellishments are on the inside.
I also made a shabby chic hanging decoration using a mdf slimline heart & some mini wooden snowflakes. Painted first in white acrylic paint, inked up with salvaged patina distress ink, heat embossed, glitter glue dabbed on, snowflakes glued on & strung with ribbon for hanging.
In the online shop you can find a beautiful array of cutting dies, stamps, inks, wooden shapes & mini embellishments plus lots more if & when required.

Thanks for visiting the blog, it is great having you pop by for a browse.
